Installer supply by category
Wire, bulbs, clips, power and kits, stocked in the quantities crews use.
On every truck
The spools, cases and small parts installation crews reorder through the season.
Supply for Christmas light installation crews
Installation crews work from spools and cases, cut runs on site and go through clips and plugs faster than anything else. Christmas Light Installers Supply stocks those materials in crew quantities: 1,000 ft. C9 socket wire spools, 500-count LED C9 bulb cases, O-clip and all-in-one clip cases, 1,000-count plug cases, replacement sockets, lamp cord and photocell timers. Shipping is free on all orders with and every order ships the same day.
Socket wire
Crews cut C9 runs from 1,000 ft. socket wire spools at 12 in. or 24 in. spacing, or from a 12/15 in. SPT-2 spool for commercial jobs and runs that come down and go back up every season. Magnetic socket spools cover metal roofs and canopies. C9 replacement sockets fix a crushed or water-damaged socket on site without pulling the whole run.
Bulbs
LED C9 bulbs on E17 bases come in 25-packs and 500-count cases. A case fills 500 sockets. Keeping 25-packs of each color temperature the crew installs on the truck covers re-lamps on service calls without opening a fresh case.
Clips by roof edge
C9 O-clips hold the socket upright on gutter lips. All-in-one clips fit shingles and gutters. Ridge clips run along peaks. Tile and extended fascia clips cover tile roofs and deep fascia. Magnet clips hold to metal. Shingle tabs give a flat attachment point under shingle edges. Crews that work mixed neighborhoods carry a case of their main clip and packs of the rest.
Plugs, cord and timers
Male and female slide-on plugs close onto cut socket wire with no tools. Every run takes a male plug, and every run that feeds another takes a female plug, so a full day of cutting uses a lot of both. SPT-2 zip plugs match SPT-2 wire. Lamp cord extends power to runs that start away from the outlet. Photocell timers come singly and in 4-packs, one per circuit.
Walkways, beds and trees
8 in. light stakes hold C9 bulbs on socket wire along walkways and bed edges, sold in 25-packs and 250-count cases. LED mini light strands in 4 in. and 6 in. spacing cover tree trunks, shrubs and wraps, singly or in 24-strand cases so one color carries across a customer's whole yard.
Kits for single-building jobs
C9 installation kits at 250 to 4,000 ft. put wire, bulbs, plugs and clips for one building into a single line item. They're useful for a customer who wants to own the materials, or for a commercial job where the materials are billed separately from the labor.
Ordering through the season
Prices are listed on every product and apply to every buyer, with no application or login. There are no fees. Same-day shipping and free shipping on $500+ make small mid-season restocks practical, such as a single case of plugs. Unused product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, which covers leftover cases at the end of the season. Orders ship within the United States.

Build a 1,000 ft. C9 run from bulk parts
| Part | Qty | Each | Line total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 ft. C9 socket spool, 12 in. spacing | 1 | $275 | $275 |
| C9 LED bulbs, 500/case | 2 | $319 | $638 |

| Total, 1,000 ft. at 12 in. spacing | $1,240.98 ($1.24/ft.) |
The equivalent 1,000 ft. 12 in. installation kit is $1,605.10. Buying the parts separately runs $364.12 less and leaves spare plugs; the kit puts everything in one line item with a choice of bulb colors and patterns.
Kitting a crew truck for the day
A crew loses more install time to missing parts than to anything else on the roof. A run that's short three plugs or a peak with no ridge clips means a trip back to the shop or a callback. Kitting the truck the night before, from the next day's job sheets, keeps every crew working from the ladder instead of from the parts counter.
Start from the day's job sheets
Pull the next day's jobs and total three numbers: lit footage by spacing, the number of runs, and the number of new circuits. Those three numbers drive almost every line on the truck. Note any job with an unusual surface, such as a metal roof, tile, or deep fascia, because those need clips the crew doesn't use every day.
A daily truck kit
Example for a crew scheduled for about 900 ft. of C9 roofline across 24 runs at 12 in. spacing. Unit prices are from the current catalog.
| Item | Load | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Socket wire | 1072 ft. (day's footage, a 3 ft. lead per run, about 100 ft. spare) | Two 1,000 ft. spools if the day mixes 12 in. and 24 in. spacing |
| LED C9 bulbs | 900 plus 50 spares per color temperature | $0.638 each by the case |
| Primary clip | 991 (10% over for breakage and doubled-up sections) | O-clips $0.228 each by the case |
| Secondary clips | A pack each of ridge, magnet and tile/fascia clips | All-in-one clips $0.183 each by the case |
| Male and female plugs | 68 of each (two per run plus re-cuts) | $0.699 per plug by the case |
| Replacement sockets | A 10-pack | For crushed or water-filled sockets found on returning runs |
| Lamp cord | One roll | Leads for runs that start away from an outlet |
| Photocell timers | One per new circuit, plus one spare | $10.75 each in 4-packs |
Bin layout
Organize the truck so each crew member can grab parts without unpacking:
- Wire: spools on a rack or spindle so wire pulls straight off without twisting. Label each spool by spacing.
- Bulbs: one bin per color temperature, each labeled, with the case label kept on top. Never mix warm white and sun warm white in one bin.
- Clips: the primary clip in a bulk bin, secondary clips in labeled small bins.
- Power: male plugs, female plugs and zip plugs in separate compartments, since a male and a female look alike at a glance in a cold, dark truck bed.
- Repair: replacement sockets, a test cord and spare timers together, for service calls on returning customers.
Before the truck leaves
- Check plug counts against the day's run count, not the footage.
- Confirm the bulb bins match the color temperature on each job sheet.
- Load clips for every surface on the day's jobs, not just the usual one.
- Test a short length cut from each spool with a male plug, so a damaged spool shows up in the shop and not on a roof.
End-of-day restock
When the truck comes back, count what's left in each bin and restock to the next day's kit. Track which parts run low most often. For most crews it's plugs and the primary clip, followed by spare bulbs in the most common color temperature. Order those by the case so a single reorder covers several days.
Shipping is free on every order with and orders ship the same day, so a mid-week restock of one case of plugs or clips is practical. Unused, unopened cases left at the end of the season can be returned within 30 days of delivery in original packaging.
Service and removal calls
Service calls on returning customers need a smaller kit: 25-packs of each color temperature the crew installs, replacement sockets, a pack of each plug, a few timers and a test cord. Removal days need bins and labels more than parts: coil each run loosely, label it by customer and edge, and store bulbs in labeled bins by color temperature so next season's re-install pulls straight from the shelf.
Questions
How do I install a slide-on plug on cut socket wire?
Cut the wire square between two sockets, open the plug, push the wire fully into the channel so it seats against the end, and press the plug closed so both prongs pierce the insulation. Test the run before mounting it.
What's the difference between an O-clip and an all-in-one clip?
An O-clip wraps the C9 socket and slides onto a gutter lip, holding the bulb upright. An all-in-one clip has both a gutter hook and a shingle tab, so one clip covers both surfaces on a house that mixes them.
How do I replace a single damaged socket?
Cut the damaged socket out, then install a C9 replacement socket on the wire in its place. It keeps the spacing and saves pulling and re-cutting the whole run.
How many plugs does a crew go through in a day?
Two per run that continues to another run, one per run that ends, plus re-cuts. Count the runs on the day's jobs and carry extra for mis-measured edges. A 1,000-count case covers a long stretch of jobs.
Should crews use SPT-1 or SPT-2 socket wire?
SPT-1 is standard on residential rooflines. SPT-2's thicker jacket handles repeated install and removal, long commercial runs and more abrasion. Use SPT-2 zip plugs on SPT-2 wire.
When will my order ship?
Every order ships the same day it's placed, whatever time you order. There's no cutoff.
Should I choose 12 in. or 15 in. spacing?
12 in. spacing gives a tighter, brighter line and is common on single-story homes and anything viewed up close. 15 in. spacing uses about 20% fewer bulbs for the same footage and is common on larger homes and commercial rooflines viewed from a distance.
Which clip do I need?
All-in-one clips fit shingles and gutters. Ridge clips mount along roof peaks. Tile and extended fascia clips are for tile roofs and deep fascia boards. Magnet clips hold to metal surfaces, and light stakes place C9 or C7 bulbs along walkways and beds.
How many bulbs do I need for a roofline?
Convert the run length to inches and divide by the socket spacing. A 100 ft. roofline is 1,200 in.; at 12 in. spacing that's 100 sockets and 100 bulbs, and at 15 in. spacing it's 80.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders to the contiguous United States, with no order minimum.
Can I return items I don't use?
Yes. Unused, uninstalled product in its original, intact packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Request the return before shipping anything back.
Restock the truck. It ships today.
